McIntosh Integrated Audio System MXA80

The McIntosh MXA80 integrated mini audio system is a generation of the well-known MXA70. It supports the same full functionality in a compact package, adding support for DSD and DXD digital music files thanks to a new digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
The McIntosh MXA80 features a 50W stereo amplifier and two specially designed 2-way desktop speakers that deliver surprisingly rich and full sound despite their size. A total of six inputs - 4 digital and 2 analog - allow you to connect different music sources. The USB input accepts PCM signals up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and supports DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256, as well as DXD 352.8 kHz and DXD 384 kHz. Exclusive MCT input offers a reliable connection for listening to high-resolution audio from SACD in combination with the MCT80 SACD / CD transport.
A special headphone amplifier is designed for those cases when you want to listen to music more carefully, privately. It uses unique McIntosh technologies, so that each pair of the many headphones produced provides the best listening experience. Headset Crossfeed Director (HXD) adds extra features to your music, while Power Guard prevents overloading that can damage your speakers or headphones. 5-step Bass gain control allows you to further adjust the tonal coloring.

The compact size of the McIntosh MXA80 makes it an excellent audio system for the office, bedroom or lounge. Combine it with the similar MB50 Streaming Audio Player and MP100 Phono Preamplifier to form the basis of a complete audio system. The amplifier is housed in a beautifully polished stainless steel case that complements the classic glass front panel, control knobs, and brushed aluminum end caps, the speakers come in a luxurious lacquered black finish.
