Marantz was involved in the development of the CD format, and the CD 60 model drew on all the engineering experience, including the latest version of proprietary HDAM modules used in the analog output part of the player. The HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules) offer an excellent overall response compared to off-the-shelf integrated circuit solutions used by other manufacturers. These modules have been further optimized for more accurate bandwidth, resulting in reduced distortion at high frequencies for unsurpassed musicality and detail in each recording. Complementing the high quality of CD playback, the CD 60 has a convenient USB-A input on the front panel, allowing you to play a wide range of digital files.

The CD60 features a reference-class digital-to-analog converter (192 kHz / 24-bit and 5.6 MHz DSD) for high-quality music playback with incredible clarity across the entire frequency range.

For the most sophisticated listeners, the CD 60 digital-to-analog converter offers a unique choice of two digital filter modes: filter 1 is a mode with a smooth steepness of decline, and filter 2 is a mode with a sharp steepness of decline for more accurate visualization of musical images. At the output of the digital-analog CD 60 path, HDAM modules are used to provide a feeling of lightness and comfort during prolonged listening.

The built-in headphone amplifier in the CD 60 inherits the exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuitry with three gain settings (Low/Average/High) for a perfect match with headphones of almost any model. To avoid any interference or noise when using the line-out when the headphones are not connected to the device, the headphone amplifier is equipped with an "Off Circuit" function that automatically turns it off.
