The build of the Marantz manifests quality. The sound it reproduces is pretty close to audiophile standards. Filter 1 produces clarity and a spaciousness with raw edginess to the highs - being a hardcore jazz fan, I like this mode; while Filter 2 maintains clarity and the same wide soundstage but adds some refinement to the sound by softening the edginess of the highs.
