Sonus Faber IL Cremonese is a new piece in the iconic Homage collection. This speaker system adopts innovative technology from Lilium. The bass section of Sonus Faber IL Cremonese consists of two 22-centimeter W22XTR-16 drivers developed in-house. Their cones have a sandwich structure with foam polymer in the center layer and a thin cellulose coating on the outer sides, resulting in a combination of low mass and increased rigidity.
The heads are mounted at the bottom of the cabinet on the side wall in a separate compartment with a Stealth Reflex acoustic design. This is a rather complex phase-inverter with low airflow velocity and, accordingly, without turbulent sounds. The tandem voices the range of 25 - 80 Hz, and it is actually a full-fledged subwoofer, structurally decoupled from the rest of the cabinet volume. The bass section is also represented by a pair of heads with similarly structured cones, but smaller, 180-millimeter caliber. They are located on the front panel of the Sonus Faber IL Cremonese, and also work in a separate chamber with Stealth Reflex design. The midrange driver also has its own 'room', and its volume is carefully calculated to maximize linearity in the 250 - 2500 Hz range, the most important range for our ears. To reduce the weight of the moving system, the voice coil is wound with copper-plated aluminum wire. In the neodymium magnet system, measures have been taken to reduce eddy current losses.
