Quad Elite CDX CD Player Black
Elite CDX-original CD players of the British company Quad, which complement the eponymous line of stereo components. The devices are made in a compact aluminum case and have extensive functionality. The players are optimized for playing standard CD-Audio discs, and their design is based on the same advanced technical solutions as the top players of the brand.
Quad Elite CDX players are mounted on a robust anti-resonant chassis, which provides reliable protection of their circuits from external mechanical vibrations. The devices have a stylish corporate industrial design, which is emphasized by an elegant aluminum facade. On the laconic front panel there is a slot tray of the transport mechanism, some player controls, and an elegant informative display.
Quad Elite CDX players are equipped with a precision transport mechanism, which is characterized by fast and almost silent operation.
The turntables have an adjustable analog output, which allows the units to function as a preamp (if connected directly to power amplifiers). Quad Elite CDX players are an excellent solution for any audio system. At the same time, the high-class "stuffing" allows you to create small stereo systems with a minimum number of components, which will not be inferior in sound quality to many full-format kits.
Players are equipped with a digital-to-analog converter in the form of a Cirrus Logic CS4398 chip, which is capable of processing signals up to 24 bits / 192 kHz. Thanks to this module, the devices can be used as a DAC for an external signal source.
Quad Elite CDX players have balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, and audio circuits are made using selected audiophile components. Due to the low input impedance of the analog outputs, the player is well compatible with different amplifiers, while the devices support different interconnect cables. To allow for integration with other components of the Elite line, the players have a proprietary system bus with the corresponding port.

About brand
Quad
The history of Quad is one of technical achievement in the field of sound reproduction. It is a story that began with the Quad 1 amplifier, which brought the benefits of 15 years knowledge and experience in professional audio and industrial products to the task of making the most accurate domestic audio amplifier of its age.A few years later, in 1953, the product which set the standard for amplifiers was the Quad II Power Amplifier, the time of Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation and the year in which Mount Everest was finally conquered. This amplifier pioneered the principle of cathode coupling through the output transformer to reduce harmonic distortion to almost negligible levels. Such was its clear superiority that this model remained in production for 18 years. Three years later, in 1956, Quad demonstrated the first true full-range electrostatic loudspeaker. This remarkable product (known later as the ESL 57) used a virtually mass-less plastic film as a moving diaphragm between two charged plates. Compared with moving coil loudspeakers, the ESL 57 was free of unwanted colourations and distortions. This landmark product remained in production, virtually unchanged, for 28 years.
