They speakers R700 are a bit power hungry and I'm barely feeding them enough power at 75w each. When I got a new cheaper Sony AVR (165W)on these R700s it opened up and I felt the music hit my body as I sat on the sofa at 42 volume level. But with proper power they send a focused directional laser beam of sound right at me. These speakers dip down to 4ohms, so make sure you get a receiver that supports that.
