M8X I Silver
The Musical Fidelity M8xi is an integrated amplifier. It weighs about 40 kg and with a cabinet depth of 40 cm it will not fit on most standard Hi-Fi racks. It can only be unpacked and installed by two people. And, of course, the price of Musical Fidelity M8xi is also not small, and hardly easy to lift for many music lovers.
As for power, this amplifier develops a record 550 watts per channel at 8 ohms load and 870 watts when connecting 4-ohm speakers. And when the load impedance drops to 2 ohms, the Musical Fidelity M8xi can deliver up to 1.6 kW of output power. And note that all this is in the real traditional A/B class, not in the new-fangled D! According to Musical Fidelity, the M8xi can work with any speaker on the market, and it's hard to disagree with that statement.
The Musical Fidelity M8xi is equipped with a wide range of analog inputs, but with the exception of a vinyl turntable cartridge input. So, if listening to records is in your plans, you will need to buy a suitable phono stage. At the same time, the amplifier has a Home Theater input, which allows the M8xi to be used as an amplifier for the front channels of a home theater.
The unit also has a wide range of digital inputs: two optical, two coaxial, and an asynchronous USB for computer connection. However, Musical Fidelity M8xi has no network functions or sockets for powering external devices.
