The M6x DAC is one of the first Musical Fidelity DAC models to utilize ESS Technology's 32-bit HyperStream II technology. To create this device, the company's developers used two ES9038Q2M chips from the Sabre series, switched on in double differential mode. By combining the new M6x DAC with a differential amplifier, the dual mono ideology can be preserved throughout the entire audio path, thus providing the clearest sound with excellent channel separation and a voluminous stereo picture. Utilizing Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology, the M6x DAC delivers superior output performance with vanishingly low noise and distortion. Altera's high-performance 16-core XMOS and CPLD MAX II audio processors enable upsampling and oversampling of incoming audio streams, as well as full MQA decoding. M6x DAC circuitry and printed circuit boards were designed from scratch by experienced specialists, taking into account the peculiarities of digital and analog parts operation, and in full compliance with traditional solutions used in Musical Fidelity High End components. The noise-sensitive digital circuits are powered by a proprietary silent power supply with toroidal transformer and EMI filter. This ensures ultra-low noise on the power supply bus. Additional protection against electromagnetic interference is provided by the device housing and in particular by the front and rear panels made of milled aluminum. A solid and rigid chassis protects the electronics from the negative effects of vibrations.
