REFERENCE 2c META
Featuring 12th generation Uni-Q driver array with MAT, Reference 2 Meta centre speaker (can be used as Left-Centre-Right speaker) has the uncanny ability to completely immerse you in both music and movies. Designed for people with smaller rooms but demand full-scale, high-performance sound, Reference 2 Meta delivers on both fronts.
Since the first Reference speaker, KEF engineers have continued to innovate using what is possible with The Reference. Ground-breaking in its first incarnation, each subsequent iteration of The Reference has added to the world’s knowledge of the science of acoustics.
KEF Reference 2 Meta is a compact 3-way center channel speaker system, the youngest in The Reference Meta series for movie and music lovers with small rooms who need high-quality sound.
The Reference speakers are designed for serious audiophiles who are looking for the ultimate enjoyment of listening to music and watching movies. Listeners will be able to experience realistic and immersive sound with stunning dynamics and a level of authenticity that reveals previously unheard details. It doesn't matter if the audio is played through a traditional stereo pair or through a multi-channel home theater system.
The Reference Meta speakers are transparent and realistic, powerful and dynamic, with clear, rich, well-articulated bass.
The Reference speakers are simple in terms of location and easily adapt to your listening area with the innovative KEF-Flexible Port Technology (adjustable Bass reflex port), which can reduce resonances inside the port. The kit includes two options for bass reflex ports that allow users to change the sound in accordance with the size of the room. In addition, the bell and shape of each port were calculated using computational fluid dynamics to avoid turbulence and noise coloring the sound.
Shadow Flare significantly reduces harmful diffraction of the case, allowing Uni-Q to operate at the highest level. The precisely designed surface extends the Uni-Q waveguide effect for improved clarity, especially when it comes to the subtle nuances of plucked strings and other percussive sounds.
All enclosures in The Reference series are designed using the finite element method to determine the ideal shape and position of the struts to minimize secondary radiation from the side walls. Constrained Layer Damping is used to convert the remaining vibration into heat.
