Denon PMA-1600NE Integrated Amplifier with DAC Silver

Thanks to a built-in USB port and a high-quality Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), the amplifier plays music files in high-resolution format, up to 384 kHz/32 bit and in DSD format (up to 11.2 MHz), allowing you to get perfect sound quality from your computer. For better audio reproduction from analog inputs, the PMA-1600NE is equipped with a special Analog Mode mode, which allows you to disable all unused amplifier circuits, such as digital inputs, to improve sound quality.
The device uses the proprietary UHC (Ultra High Current)-MOS topology, that is, it is made according to a push-pull circuit on high-power field-effect transistors capable of delivering high current to the load with minimal distortion. This circuit combines high output power and the ability to masterfully reproduce the full sound range of any style, from the subtle musical nuances of jazz performers to the powerful climaxes of a symphony orchestra.

The design of the PMA-1600NE amplifier chassis allows you to prevent unwanted vibrations that affect the sound quality. The chassis consists of 6 independent units consisting of a phono correction unit, an input interface unit, an equalizer and volume control unit, a unit with a USB DAC, an amplifier unit, and a control unit. The blocks are made of steel plates with a thickness of 1.0 mm, which protect the signal circuits from external vibration and eliminate unfavorable mutual interference between the circuits. The power supply unit is located in the center of the PMA-1600NE and is equipped with powerful radiators on both sides. The power transformer, radiator and chassis mounts are made of vibration-absorbing ABS plastic.

For digital inputs, the PMA-1600NE uses Advanced AL32 Plus, the latest version of the analog signal processor, which uses unique data interpolation algorithms and supports high-resolution signals up to 384 kHz / 32-bit. These interpolation algorithms allow you to approximate the received signal to the original analog sound by carefully restoring data that was lost during digital recording. As a result, the sound is reproduced in great detail, without interference, the sources are clearly localized in space, the sound is rich and expressive over the entire range and corresponds to the original as much as possible.
The PMA-1600NE is equipped with a high-speed digital isolator to eliminate the negative impact on the sound quality of high-frequency noise from a computer connected via a USB port. The isolator uses microchips to transform the signal and allows for galvanic isolation of input and output signals, reducing the adverse effects of high-frequency interference on analog amplifier circuits. The PMA-1600NE also uses a special secondary winding of the digital circuit power transformer to remove noise from the power supply.
When using analog signal sources, the Analog Mode mode is activated, which turns off the power to the digital circuits and avoids any interference in the analog section. Analog Mode also disables the display, allowing the PMA-1600NE to operate as a pure analog amplifier (with the digital optical and coaxial inputs disabled and the USB-B input disabled).

The PMA-1600NE provides USB DAC functions and supports high-resolution DSD formats of 11.2 MHz and 384 kHz / 32-bit PCM. Transmitting a DSD stream from a computer supports both ASIO output and DoP (DSD over PCM) technology. The asynchronous mode of operation of the DAC in the PMA-1600NE avoids the influence of jitter by using a separate synchronization master clock. This is the only way to be sure that your digital devices are perfectly synchronized. The PMA-1600NE DAC provides the highest-level 384 kHz/32-bit sampling rate for clear, natural sound. The PMA-1600NE includes a phono corrector that supports input from MM and MS cartridges. This phono corrector has a high gain, and its "simple and direct" design allows you to transmit sound without distortion. The PMA-1600NE is equipped with a MM / MS relay switch, which simplifies the circuit board design and reduces the impact on sound, allowing you to play the most subtle nuances of music.
The PMA-1600NE comes with a remote control that can also work with the DCD-1600NE player and other Denon components. A low-noise display on the front panel shows the type of source selected and how often the source is discredited.
