The B&W CCM 8.5D speaker system is designed to be built into the ceiling of the sounded room and is in no way inferior in its characteristics to high-end cabinet speakers. However, unlike the latter, it does not take up space in the room and, thanks to its neat appearance, is almost invisible in the interior after installation.
The B&W CCM 8.5D speaker is based on proprietary speakers and has a two-way configuration. They are equipped with a woofer with a Continuum cone. The speaker has a powerful magnetic system, is mounted on a cast chassis resistant to vibrations and is supplemented with an anti-resonance plug, the presence of which has significantly reduced sound distortion. The high-frequency driver in the B&W CCM 8.5D has a Diamond Dome, the same as in the company's high-end speakers, and is equipped with a proprietary Nautilus acoustic load. The tweeter is mounted on its own chassis, which protects it from external vibrations and serves to further reduce sound distortion. The tweet unit in the B&W CCM 8.5D is rotatable, allowing it to be directed in the desired direction after the speaker is mounted. The bass speaker is loaded by the Flowport bass reflex, which is characterized by a reduced acoustic noise level and high efficiency.
