The B&W 707 S3 compact bookshelf speakers are perfect for high-quality sound in small rooms in stereo systems or for use in home theater rear channels. The speakers have the same design features and design as the other models in the series, which provides a similar sound character and the ability to use the speakers in combination kits. The speakers are made in a damped housing with a curved front panel, which provides an extended polar pattern and a more expressive stereo picture.
The speakers are equipped with a tweeter with a carbon dome. Unlike diaphragms made of aluminum, carbon fiber provides a softer sound character without sacrificing detail. The sound of the B&W 707 S3 is comfortable for long listening sessions. To further reduce distortion, the tweeter dome is damped to eliminate spurious vibrations and resonances.
The woofer in the speaker is equipped with a cone made of patented Continuum composite material. The cone is mounted on a wide, elastic suspension to move the piston with a large amplitude for a dynamic and assertive sound. Despite their compact size, the B&W 707 S3 sound very rich with convincing bass, allowing the speakers to be used for full listening to most genres of music without the support of a subwoofer.
To further extend the bass range, the B&W 707 S3 features a Flowport bass reflex with an outlet on the rear panel. Two pairs of screw terminals are provided for connection to the amplifier. Thus, if desired, the model can be connected according to the Bi-Amping or Bi-Wiring schemes, which will further increase the sound quality.
