The Bowers & Wilkins 703 S2 is a solid and uncompromising 3-way floorstanding speaker designed to fill even large rooms with full-blooded and realistic sound. She reproduces powerful basslines with all her vitality, while a specially designed Continuum midrange and carbon dome tweeter give amazing clarity to vocals and high-frequency effects.
Milled from solid solid aluminium, the massive RF cone housing creates an acoustically optimised shape – an exceptionally inert and anti-resonance structure.
Carbon dome tweeters are a technology specifically developed for the 700 series. Providing a drastic improvement over the double aluminium dome, it pushes the 1st resonance frequency back to 47 kHz.
First introduced in the 800 Diamond Series, the Continuum cone represents the biggest step forward in midrange drivers since the introduction of Kevlar. The coated braided material provides precisely controlled resonances, resulting in a more open and neutral midrange.
The midrange drivers in the floorstanding models have mechanical isolation, similar to the design used in the 800 Diamond series. It reduces the color of the sound caused by the vibrations of the cabinet and improves the transparency of the midrange.
Calculated using state-of-the-art computer simulation techniques, the Aerofoil profile provides high strength and rigidity exactly where it is needed most. The result is deep and dynamic bass.
