Compact and extremely powerful for its size (150W), the Acoustic Energy 108 active subwoofer is remotely controlled for easy installation and setup. It is designed to blend seamlessly with the polyphony of a movie sound system based on the 100th Anniversary Series.

The Acoustic Energy 108 can be categorized as a compact subwoofer designed for relatively small rooms. The closed cabinet is a regular cube with a side of only 28 cm, resting on elegant metal cones. On the bottom edge is a 200-millimeter head with a pressed cellulose diffuser mounted on a wide suspension. Due to the fact that the driver operates in the floor, the sound pressure at the lowest frequencies is increased. The built-in amplifier is rated at 150 watts, which, according to British engineers' calculations, is sufficient for most applications. Only line terminals (input and output) are provided for connection to the receiver, which are the most commonly used in practice.
