The RME MADIface USB professional audio interface offers full mobile functionality for working with the MADI (Multichannel Audio Digital Interface) protocol for recording studios. This device offers 64 input channels and 64 output channels and has the same level of MADI functionality as "adult" boards, provides full compatibility with all devices that have this protocol. The RME MADIface USB optical and coaxial inputs support RME's proprietary Seamless Redudancy mode: if there is a signal problem on one input, it is instantly switched to the other. These inputs work simultaneously, and the sound engineer can use the mirrored output mode or all four I/Os separately with the internal 48-bit TotalMix mixer. It features a low-latency routing matrix as well. In extended mode, 128 input signals can be routed and mixed to all 128 output channels.
RME MADIface USB can also use MIDI-over-MADI technology to remotely control other devices via MADI protocol. In standalone mode, the audio interface works as a repeater, doubling the maximum cable length (100 meters of coaxial cable and 2 km of optical cable). It also works as an active digital signal converter with jitter reduction. It is powered by a USB port.
