REL, a global leader in the production of subwoofers for home music and cinema systems, traditionally provides its products with high-level connectivity in addition to the standard connection type. Models of the new HT series are specially designed for use in a home theater only when connecting low-frequency effects via the channel 1/LFE.
HT series subwoofers are only equipped with a low-level input, as the vast majority of cinema AV receivers and processors support this connection. By simplifying the design, the developers managed to reduce the cost of products, while maintaining the proprietary sound quality of REL. Larger woofers provide extraordinary dynamics and extremely high bass performance – for the most authentic reproduction of the special effects of the movie's soundtrack.
The HT / 1508 features the perfect combination of a new lightweight 380 mm CarbonGlas speaker with an excellent 800 W Class D amplifier. Specially adapted for use in a home theater environment, input filters allow the subwoofer to deliver extremely smooth bass from 21 Hz.
The neoclassical design of the rugged case, finished in black vinyl with a "polished aluminum" texture, is complemented by a 12 mm thick polished insert located on the upper edge. This design helps to minimize unwanted vibrations.
From the beginning this has been a labor of love, born from a desire for a more perfect sound experience. It began with one man’s dissatisfaction with the performance of subwoofers available at the time. That search for better, that pursuit of perfect sound remains the driving force behind REL. It has persisted through changes in ownership, it has driven massive advancements in technology and innovations in designs. Turning loose the power, the drama and the fun that lies within great music and movies.
