Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl phono stage. This corrector is a recent addition to the elite Nu-Vista series of components, which use Nu-Vista low-noise metal-ceramic tubes as amplifying elements. This solution has improved some of the characteristics that are essential for record reproduction. The 6CW4 nuvistors used by Musical Fidelity, with a gain of 65, are characterized by increased linearity, i.e. strictly proportional dependence of the output voltage on the input voltage. This is important for undistorted transmission of the dynamic range of the recording.
Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl can be simultaneously connected to up to five cartridges of different types via RCA inputs, and for each of them to choose the optimal input parameters. For MC you can set the load resistance of 10, 25, 50, 100, 400, 800, 1200 and 47000 ohms, and for MM - the capacitance of 50, 100, 150, 150, 200, 250, 250, 300, 350 and 400 picofarads. This is done by buttons on the front panel, and the selected value is confirmed by blue LEDs on the front panel. The corrector is designed for MM heads with 2.5 mV output and MC heads with 0.25 mV output. For copies with lower output you can add 6 dB of gain, and if you need to get rid of infra-low frequencies at the output - turn on the subsonic filter. In this case, the frequency response will comply with IEC specifications, designed for players with higher level of murmur.
Like all Nu-Vista components, the corrector is assembled in a full-size 480mm wide enclosure. Thick aluminum walls prevent the penetration of vibrations from outside, side heat sinks are used to cool the stabilizers. For additional decoupling, the standard sharp cones with footrests are provided.
