On the front panel of the M6s PRX there is a nameplate engraved "CRPS Dual Mono Power Amplifier". This abbreviation stands for Choke Regulated Power Supply - power supply with throttle stabilization. Such a solution is often used in tube technology, but in transistor technology it is considered to be an unacceptable luxury due to mass and dimensions. The point is that the choke not only smoothes out supply voltage ripples, but is also able to instantly release the energy stored in the filter capacitors. The M6s PRX has a capacitance of up to 72,000 µF, which promises outstanding dynamic performance. Inside the cabinet is the original chassis, which houses the amplifier boards, arranged in the dual-mono topology used in Musical Fidelity's best amplifiers. In the Musical Fidelity M6s PRX they are complemented by a unique CRPS power supply with choke filter. The choke filter has a high resistance to AC and low resistance to DC, making it an effective solution for suppressing noise generated by the power supply and mains.
