The Linn Radikal is the most powerful motor control unit and Linn power supply available for the Sondek LP12. Radikal also powers the internal Urika phono stage for the LP12.
Radikal combines several revolutionary technologies that enable a completely innovative approach to motor control in the LP12, dramatically improving its performance. Radikal's speed control system automatically calibrates the motor every time the Sondek LP12 is turned on, ensuring perfect timing with every use.
The use of a DC motor with a specially designed Linn housing, allowed the Linn Urika phono stage to be housed in the base for the first time, minimizing signal loss and noise.
The internal phono stage provides a shorter and simpler signal routing scheme where the output of the low level cartridge is always in the board, reducing the chance of interference from power, signal or speaker cables.
