Within the high quality casing is an oversized toroidal mains transformer and high output capacitors. Combined with the short signal path circuitry, this delivers typical Cyrus sound – dynamic, precise and with every detail finely etched.
Featuring a built-in, high resolution DAC and five digital inputs, the Cyrus 82 DAC is the ideal way of upgrading all your digital sources at the same time . Older or lower spec digital devices benefit greatly in terms of sound quality by using the high spec DAC built into the Cyrus rather than their own. With two optical and two coaxial inputs you could, for example, connect your TV, set-top TV box, Blu-ray or games console and CD player. The fifth digital input takes the form of a USB interface. This lets you connect your PC or Mac and access stored or streaming music services.
There are several upgrade paths available for the 82 DAC with the first being to add separate power amplification to enable bi-amping. The twin pre-outputs facilitate adding separate power amps, such as the X Power, for future upgrading. There's also the option of adding the famous PSX-R2 outboard power supply - for truly high-end amplification. Finally, by adding the QXR DAC board, you can improve the digital sound to reference quality.
The distinctive Cyrus case offers a number of advantages over more traditional hi-fi.
