Audio Technica AT-LP5X Turntable, Black
Building on Audio-Technica’s analogue heritage and over 50 years of Japanese audio design, the AT-LP5x features upgraded technology while keeping the contemporary style and acclaimed performance of its predecessor, the AT-LP5.

The LP5x retains the J-shaped tonearm, a design inspired by the classic Audio-Technica models of the 1960s and ’70s, and features a metallic gimbal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors. The tonearm also includes an adjustable counterweight and anti-skate control and comes fitted with a lightweight (9.3g) AT-HS6 headshell and the black AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet stereo cartridge.

Constructed of anti-vibration damping materials with heavy-mass metal chassis inserts, the AT-LP5x turntable has been designed to limit low-frequency acoustical feedback. Its precision-machined, die-cast aluminum platter is powered by a direct-drive, low-noise motor, ensuring stable, on-axis rotation at 33-1/3, 45 and 78 RPM. A 5 mm thick rubber-damping mat, which isolates from low frequency feedback while providing a highly stable surface for all LP formats, tops the platter.

The AT-LP5x features a built-in switchable MM/MC phono/line preamp that enables it to connect directly to a computer, home stereo, powered speakers and other components that have no dedicated turntable input. The selection of MM/MC cartridges allow for an easy upgrade to a moving coil with additional equipment. The turntable is also equipped with a USB output for direct connection to a computer.

Pros

This is not just a fashionable toy. Hi-Fi sound. Direct drive

Minuses

There is no auto shutdown. But maybe this is even a plus.

Review

It plays excellently with the Maratz 6007 amplifier. At least to get acquainted with vinyl, or, as in my case, after 30 years to plunge into the wonderful world of the analogy sound -audio text -vp5x is the best!

Pros

ENTERITAL -level apparatus

Minuses

Lack of adjustment of the cartridge by azimuth and tonarm in height

Review

Excellent, entry -level apparatus! Of course, the absence of some adjustments limits the user in choosing the head of the pickup, but I think this will not be a problem for many. The speed holds very smoothly! Tonarm sinks quite smoothly. The anti -skid is fine! I definitely recommend buying !!!

Pros

Strong, but minimalistic. Easy to work.

Minuses

Lack of a power circuit breaker, but in general it is not critical

Review

Great for home listening. Fast assembly and tuning, pleasant sound, acceptable price. What can I say, I really fell in love with this player!

Pros

Weighty, without backlash, looks strong and pretty.

Minuses

Phonorrector

Review

As for me, so good player of the entry -level. Everything is done competently. Nothing makes noise, there are no extra details in the sound. He replaced his native wires, leaving only the ground. There was not a big background, now not. I did not like the built -in phono -corrector, too bass, quiet and blurred by the sound. It’s good that the amplifier has its own. But here I think purely in taste and color. He plays with Fyne Audio 301 and my old Denon PMA520 which I want to replace a little later. I like the sound, assertive, clear, the ears do not get tired. Simplicity of settings, a first grader will understand. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase, the price/quality justifies itself.

Pros

Ease of work, sound quality, simplicity of configuration

Minuses

Setting a power switch

Review

An excellent workhorse of the "Nothing more" format. Gathering in 10 minutes, tunes in five. He begins to work immediately. This is a turntable for those who do not score their heads with terms of “wide scene”, “elastic bottoms”, “warmth of the top” and other metaphysics. The task of this player is to extract music from Vinil's paths and convey it to the amplifier. What he copes with. The only inconvenience is the absence of a power switch. We have to pull the PSU out of the outlet.

Pros

High -quality assembly, design, nothing superfluous

Minuses

For me personally, dimensions. Due to the width of 450 mm, I had to redo my furniture under it.

Review

The magnificent device for not very big money, direct drive, a massive disk. Tonarm works very smoothly and without backlash. The Standby mode is turned on automatically some time after turning off the engine, which fully compensates for the absence of the Power button. I use with an external phonor -corrector in an amplifier, so I can’t say anything about the quality and output signal of the built -in phonorrector. I have not yet tried to digitize the wheels. Prior to this, he used one of the best Soviet players - electronically 017 with the same as LP5X AT95E head. Time takes his, the old device periodically "showed the tricks" and he had to retire. In general, it seemed to me that despite the same heads, LP5X sounds more “collected”, without grunts. The perception of the scene seemed to have slightly improved on the branded disks, the balance was dropped through the channels (it was probably incorrectly working on the old anti -skate. In general, the sound became more pleasant, voluminous, especially when listening to classics and jazz. Living instruments sound very natural, without distortion. Whish You Were Here (my "test" disk) sounds juicier than the same album on the CD, through the same amplifier and acoustics. I am very pleased with the acquisition. Many thanks to Andrei Antonov for the blessing for the acquisition of this device.

Pros

Weighty case, assembly

Minuses

The built -in phonorrector seemed quiet

Review

I listened to vinyl different years and different genres, and I did not have enough low frequencies everywhere, for comparison I listened to the same music of the FLAC format through the Denon DNP800 streamer, which showed a clear superiority in the transmission of the lower classes, in everything else, vinyl on At LP5 sounded much more interesting, lighter and easier and easier and easier and easier and easier Brighter. In the work of mechanisms and assembly, I did not notice the shortcomings, it is a pity that there is no hitchhiking. The built -in phonorrector seemed quiet in comparison with the corrector of the Magnat MR780 amplifier, in the future I plan to buy a separate external device. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase, I recommend it.
